Leaders on the continent should be worried. Their states fall behind on technology, on the economy, and now in politics and foreign policy too. Traditional allies like Donald Trump’s United States are apparently no longer reliable partners. While the US scales back its transatlantic commitments, Putin’s Russia is embracing an expansionist agenda.
European leaders must urgently adjust to the new geopolitical situation. It seems Europe must overcome its internal fragmentation and take bold steps toward strategic autonomy.
So Europe needs plans A, B, and C for the new reality of 2025. Our platform New Energy for Europe wants to contribute to this with numerous advice for the leaders and policy makers in Brussels.
